Peter Tessier: Yes the Jets have issues and they're complicated Rumors surround the Jets with internal strife, bruised egos and drama and makes this off season even more complicated.

the first rounder for Hayes has a real good chance to be #18 overall

never thought it would be that high when they made the deadline deal

Wheeler's strong vocal show of support for PoMo has placed him in a bad position within the team. I can't see a teammate who may have concerns regarding the coach having any comfort in approaching the captain. Therefore if he is not approaching the captain, the player is approaching someone else on the team which creates a divide.

The leaders of the team must set the example by unifying amongst themselves and prevent a split from developing amongst the rest of the team.

This is a good point. If Wheeler was aware of discontent around tactics and coach’s system showing full support was likely his way to lead to that end. It’s also the wrong way.

Showing support for the coach is the "wrong way"?

No, I just think the captain threw all his support behind PoMo making him one sided in his beliefs. Difficult to believe he will support his fellow players if they have any concerns no matter how valid. Difficult to think I think he can be seen as a middle person between the coach and the rest of the players.

The Hayes trade was a bad trade. I was never a fan of Hayes and was shocked the Jets went the route they did. That trade continually looks worse as time moves forward. Mid teen first round pick and Brendan Lemieux for 12 games of Hayes.

Who cares where our first round pick that went to the rangers ends up, we made the deal, Ive moved on. It’s not top 10! This draft falls significantly after ten. Our pick
In the 2nd round could have as good a career as the 18th overall.

This is a good point but it’s too late, what’s happened has happened , now we have to sort it out. If it’s maurice and wheeler in the minority then one has to go, they will never turn the majority to their side.

I can’t imagine how Maurice can watch these playoffs and how they are now being played and think his system was still the right one. Adapt or parish

Well, I wonder if Scheif is po'd to point of requesting a trade to make a point?

Anyways, Not a good situation. Good write up in this blog Pete.

Don’t female dog about the Hayes trade.
If Chevy did nothing, you would be female doging even more.
He took a chance, it didn’t work out.
He is not the only GM whose team lost in the first round.

Traded, with Rangers, Philly, Detroit, or Florida being my best guesses

I think it might, Jets might try to pry a draft pick as well though.

If you read my comments prior to the deadline, I clearly advocated for a long term solution at Center.

I don’t think the Rangers make a good trading partner with the Jets for Trouba, unless Zibenajad is involved
